Eckhardt Obergöker celebrates his 40th anniversary

In August 2017, we were able to celebrate Eckhard Obergöker’s 40th anniversary with him. 40 years ago, he started his apprenticeship at Hydropneu and has remained loyal to the company ever since. We would like to take this opportunity to thank him for the decades of support.

1. Mr. Obergöker, how did you come to Hydropneu? My parents knew the family of the company founder Fritz Daumüller personally. His son, Hans, took over the company at a young age after the father's early death. Since I already knew before the end of the school year that I wanted to be a mechanic, we asked the Daumüllers if they would train apprentices. When I finally finished school, Hans Daumüller offered me an apprenticeship.

 2. How has Hydropneu changed in recent decades? When I came to Hydropneu in 1977, we worked in a hall under cramped conditions; parts were manufactured on conventional turning, milling and drilling machines and our hydraulic cylinders were installed there. Later, another hall was added and 2 CNC lathes were purchased, which significantly improved the precision of part production. Another milestone was the construction of our new hall in 2014 that now allows us to mount larger parts and build bigger cylinders.

 3. And with the products? The spectrum of our products has multiplied since I first started. The development of the cylinders and aggregates is currently directed towards special solutions with larger diameters and more weight, individually designed products and small series. For the assembly, of course, a very different equipment is required than before like cranes for lifting heavy parts.

 4. What do you like so much that you have stayed so long with us? As a positive, I feel my good relationship with my colleagues which creates a good working atmosphere. I enjoy working in assembly, to see how different parts turn into a working cylinder. I also appreciate my short commute. 5. What do you do in your leisure time? I spend a lot of time with my two grandchildren Emma (6 years) and Nico (3 years). We go to the outdoor pool together, to the playground and take trips to the Alb or to the Wilhelma (zoo) in Stuttgart. I also like to ride smaller motorbikes.
